Postcards
1996

Materials: Fibre-based b/w photographs, beeswax, masonite, ink, acrylic paint.

I was interested in the relation between beach-snaps, postcards and the notion of posterity that is tied up with both of these. Family snapshots are always taken with the future in mind; postcards always arrive afterwards (often when the person who sent it is no longer there). This series is related to the Beach scenes project.
