Huntly Duff Fyvie (1904 - 1982)
as I recall

I only remember Hunt when I grew older as a child and then as an adult.

He had a presence about him. He was a good farmer and I especially remember him tending the Angus [?] cattle in the Bull Pens at "Fyvie" and at the Royal and Rand shows where he won so many trophies for his string of cattle exhibited there. He was quite a serious character, he dressed well and presented a good impression. When I was younger I especially remember him going about his work with the poultry. He was quiet, hardworking and dedicated.

David Fowler, who was Clive Fyvie's grandson, inherited Fyvie from Hunt. David was always an interested young boy (especially in farming) and built up quite a unique relationship with Hunt. Hunt got to know David from the days he stayed with my parents in Howick, during the Royal Show and time spent on the farm.
